Its hard to say that its WORSE than the business plot until we get to the bottom.

I've followed it pretty close, and I think it's worse because these are Sr Guv employees across multiple Agencies attempting a coup.

These people are spread across the government. They colluded with the Russian government via FusionGPS to fabricate intelligence they used in a FISA court to gather intelligence on the opposition campaign. They have been running a giant gas lighting "Russia investigation" to cover their own tracks.

When the Business Plot was discovered, the actual "deep state" that existed back then worked to squash it. This plot actually has real power and influence. It's a coup from within the government rather than some group of angry rich guys trying to buy a puppet regime.

My only point is that we are simply in discovery phase still.
