If you have read the comics, followed him through the timelines, etc... there is absolutely nothing saying he is gay.

I imagine that the Joker would choose the sexuality that reaps the most chaos in a given situation. I'm sure he doesn't mind presenting himself as a heterosexual in order to take advantage of a psychiatrist that has a pathological desire to assist others. The Joker notices the interest that Harley has towards him and exploits her with every tool he has available.

I'm curious to see where a writer would go with the Joker and the "gay" angle. I don't really mind the Joker's sexuality changing as the only real principle that is derived from his character is being the antithesis of Batman. A good writer should be more than capable of creating some sort of situation where being gay provides a subtle ability to sow instability. A bad writer will force the gay part of his character to become extremely overt and take over the original premise of the Joker or go to the other extreme and never have the gay part of his character development lead to anything.

*Nod sagely* Wulfgar and the hammer that always comes back has really always been a homoerotic metaphor for the lustful looks Drizzt keep sending the barbarian youth he was grooming. The Icewind Dale trilogy is really just the "official" story, man. What really happened between Drizzt and Wulfgar in the lair of the ice dragon... there's the real reason Wulfgar turned into such an angry young man.
