The funny part about this story is that what the US government is accusing them of doing is exactly what our government and corporations have been doing to Russia for quite a long time.

I've been thinking the same thing about every single "Russiagate" story.

Same with the hyperventilation about Russians supplying dirt farmers with weapons.

As the saying goes there are 10 types of people in this country... Those who buy into government propaganda about Russian cyber warfare while acting like we aren't guilty of the same, and those who don't.

Wow, you really didn't comprehend what you read. They are suing the US government because it banned the software from their systems, which once it became public made the people of the US question the software's legitimacy of doing their job... so people stop using it, and in turn, the company loses income.

The problem is that the complaint is fabricated at this point in time because they have not had direct proof it has happened... but what Kaspersky Lab is saying that the potential for market loss is there due to what the government said.

She's right on one thing, though. The free market ain't got sheit to do with Kaspersky getting the Gibs Vapors.

I saw the actual complaint on another page, and they are just asking for injunctive relief, not money damages (at least so far). Judge, we don't even want a settlement, we just want back on that sweet Train O' Gibs!

Not market forces, TC. It's government picking winners and losers and getting sued for damages to their reputation, which yes, impacts their ability to sell.

If the government awards a billion dollar contract to start up that nobody is aware of, they didn't obtain that success via the market, the government picked a winner.

The agony of being ejected from the gravy train.

I should point out, it’s damn near impossible to get government workers thrown off that train. In my 5 years at the FAA I saw countless things that would’ve gotten people fired in the private sector. “Not doing your job” being one of the smaller offenses on that list.

The only two people I knew of to actually be thrown off that train - felons.

One busted for child porn, one busted for murdering his neighbor’s dog.

So I understand Kaperskys exasperation. They’re like “c’mon guys, whose dog did we kill?”
