Indeed, I like Netflix too, but as you say, the projections look much different, if they can't wholesale Star Wars & Co.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Thing is, I love Netflix. It's got more television than I'd ever want to watch. But that doesn't justify anything near the 100x pe, or being the 'top gainer' stock for 3 years running.Smitty-48 wrote:I don't think people are going to throw Netflix away, at least not overnight, if Disney charges $5/ month and Netflix is charging $12/month, the nerds will probably pay that, but into the future, Netflix is really going to have to up its game, in terms of content, you don't take Luke Skywalker down with indie films.
Netflix has got to go big, they need their own proprietary franchises.
The Disney content is paying for the other content, they need to break out of Disney's world and mine other nerdy stuff of their very own. I mean, they're are plenty of SF franchises out there, which are untapped, the only way to hang with Luke Skywalker, is to come up with something new, and then go big time with the production values.
They need their own nerd niche, they can't keep dining out on established franchises.
