Boxing in an MMA gym is expensive, not in a boxing gym, find a real boxing gym. MMA and Jiu Jitsu is the expensive shit, because they are out to fleece upper middle class white folk, boxing and wrestling, those are lower class sports, and they charge accordingly, unless they are an MMA gym teaching boxing or wrestling, then they'll try to fleece you like they fleece the rest of their upper middle class clientele.Speaker to Animals wrote:Well, boxing is definitely more expensive where I live. Those are all in MMA gyms. Big bucks. I'd love to do that and study boxing and wrestling at the same time. But I can't afford that shit.

I don't think there is a boxing gym where I live. I looked around briefly online. Maybe something not widely advertised exists. Don't know.
Where I live, things like Wing Chun, and the Filipino martial arts are the ones that are for budget. There are some traditional Kung Fu places that are a bit on the expensive side, but not like an MMA gym.
I was just going to settle on the affordable kung fu classes and rock the USA flag pants. Nothing can beat that.

Krav Maga is big out here. I would sign up for something like that but I'm not even working out yet

Well you can always go back to the first version.Ph64 wrote:Eh, haven't played wolf since RTCW, and even that was years after it was released, and was the last game I've played. I went to download the one after and it said "20gb" and I said screw that - probably don't have a machine enough to play it (much less the video card). Games just don't have the appeal to me at 50+ that they had when I was in my 20s, and with all the creeping "PC" into them it just makes me more apt to say F-that shit.

I have actually thought about capoeira too. I already do a lot of similar things in my movement training.

Look in areas where the most blacks and hispanics live, they love them some boxing. Look in the lower class white neighborhoods for the wrestling.Speaker to Animals wrote:I don't think there is a boxing gym where I live. I looked around briefly online. Not a lot of that here. Most of the south is not segregated like that. That's the kind of thing you find up north.

That should still help you narrow down things a little.Speaker to Animals wrote:Not a lot of that here. Most of the south is not segregated like that. That's the kind of thing you find up north.

It's pretty much weirder things like wing chun or capoeira. We have lots of MMA-style gyms (bank). There are a shit ton of those little karate places for kids. Some of that Tae Kwon Do faggotry.
Not a lot of options if you don't have plenty of cash. Those MMA gyms are pretty nice, though, if you can afford it. That's where most people go, it seems.
There are several Kung Fu options. Two shaolin-style kung fu places, but one I think is mainly for kids. There are a few different wing chun instructors, but it's really small-time, which honestly, is more my style anyway.
I think there might be some shotokan and aikido options.
The capoeira stuff looks pretty interesting, but it's total hippieville over there.

The good clubs are all the way up to Mt. Pilot, though. It's hard to make it there more than one night a week, TBH.
