Are 80% of Americans "young adults"?Okeefenokee wrote:Or it can be young adults with almost zero cost of living who blow all of their money on shit they don't need, and then fall back on ramen until they get paid again. The Conservative wrote:Can be damn near close to it though.Okeefenokee wrote:Just like point of sale markup is not the same as profit, living paycheck to paycheck is not the same as poverty.
So since it's such a worthless metric, let's stop pretending like it means something.

15–64 is 66% of Americans, or 'Working Able" AmericansGrumpyCatFace wrote:Are 80% of Americans "young adults"?Okeefenokee wrote:Or it can be young adults with almost zero cost of living who blow all of their money on shit they don't need, and then fall back on ramen until they get paid again. The Conservative wrote:

65+ is about over 13%
You do the math... because most people aren't retiring at 65 anymore. Oh and "young adults" is a term that is defined by the person who views it. To me "Young Adult" is anyone under 30.

Y'all are missing the part about it being useless, because it doesn't tell you shit about who you're talking about.
Could be a hard working father of five. Could be a spoiled millenial blowing his paycheck on weed and pizza hut. Don't try making any points with useless terms.

Is this the part where the chicken littles screech about a mythical America of yore where everybody could have missed all sorts of paychecks without ending up in the gutter with the rubbies?

Exactly! Okee is missing that part of it. Guess Okee didn't take a couple minutes to read the article because that was a big part of it!The Conservative wrote:Just wait till you need to think about retiring.

Yep, we're a debtor nation. If you don't understand the playing field you're an idiot
Food prices through the roof
Health Care through the roof
Education through the roof
Taxes Up
Wages steady
The only way to do it is bust your ass and out work the system, live on beans and rice if you need to and choose frugal entertainment and relaxation.

If you don't understand that inflation is almost non existent in relative historical terms, then you're the idiot, mate.C-Mag wrote:Yep, we're a debtor nation. If you don't understand the playing field you're an idiot
