Re: Total Solar Eclipse in August
Never seen a total eclipse, and the next one that's gonna hit (part of) Denmark is scheduled for 2142. I saw a partial eclipse in 1999. Made the mistake of looking at the eclipse through a set of binoculars without using a loose piece of dark lens. Everything simply turned a hazy shade of light blue for almost five minutes.Monte wrote:Anyone else here seen one before? I Saw one in 1999 in Reims France on the way down to my first European juggling convention in Grenoble.
Anyway. Nobody should worry about the sun not showing up after the eclipse. Ya'll do know that the Aztecs were totally right, right? All them sacrifices is still what's fueling the daily return of the sun. All Hail the Feathered Serpent.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.

I think most years there is an eclipse somewhere on the planet (mostly over the sea) I'll just have to travel to see another one.Speaker to Animals wrote:Montegriffo wrote:We have to wait about 400 years for another total eclipse in the UK (1999 was only total in Cornwall) I may not still be alive by then....Speaker to Animals wrote:

I will say it was really a special moment and would heartily recommend anyone who has the time and money to travel to the path of it to experience it.
I'm pretty jealous to be honest.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Being with about a dozen juggler mates it was inevitable that a couple of them would get out their LED glow clubs and do some passing during the darkness of the totality. We got some strange looks from the other occupants of the campsite we were in at the time.
No doubt there were some comments about the weird ''Roast Beef'' appearing to ignore the event in favour of a little juggling.

He's in the UK. There's no way his healthcare system will allow him to live that long.Speaker to Animals wrote:Montegriffo wrote: We have to wait about 400 years for another total eclipse in the UK (1999 was only total in Cornwall) I may not still be alive by then....

Actually, we could halt it now, there has been something that has been on the burners for a while, the problem is that with taking it, you have a 100% guarantee chance of cancer.PartyOf5 wrote:He's in the UK. We at least have not reached the point where our doctors use state violence to force a baby to die instead of get life-saving treatment available elsewhere. So we have that going for us..
