There is obviously a cognitive breakdown in people arguing their own greedy interests. You don't want to pay for other people's healthcare, just tell them to "fuck off & die." No reason to make up ridiculous reasons why healthcare doesn't work.

Healthcare is not a public good.

When you pretend that it is, you are going to have to ration it just the way you have to do with national defense and public highways.

I don't understand why they couldn't take him to the U.S. I'm sure they could have raised thousands for him with some kind of online funding. I've seen people raise tens of thousands for stupid crap, this would surely surpass those.

This story is tragic, but I don't think it serves as proof that single payer is any worse than what we have now. I think every health care system is much worse than it needs to be, but for different reasons.

The family raised the money. The government blocked them from seeking treatment or leaving the country. Future subjects of the caliphate cheer loudly.
