People used to have more disposable income (this was more the 1990s those restaurants took off) and there weren't so many healthier (and tastier) local options.

Wings are awful easy to make. A few spices and dunk em in some hot oil. They're even really good in the oven, they have enough fat so they stay nice and juicy, a convection oven will make the skin extra crispy.
