Dude just hit the jackpot - Blatant school sanctioned racism.....We should all be so fortunate..DBTrek wrote:Evergreen faculty demand ‘investigation’ into professor who dissented from no-whites day
More than 50 faculty members at Evergreen State College are calling on the administration to punish a professor who refused to participate in a no-whites day on campus.
In a public letter released June 2, the faculty accused biology professor Bret Weinstein of endangering members of the Evergreen community by speaking out against student protesters who have taken over the Olympia, Washington, campus.
“Demonstrate accountability by pursuing a disciplinary investigation against Bret Weinstein according to guidelines in the Social Contract and Faculty Handbook,” the letter read. “Weinstein has endangered faculty, staff, and students, making them targets of white supremacist backlash by promulgating misinformation in public emails, on national television, in news outlets, and on social media.”

I hope your degree covers cloud solutions.
AWS/Azure/Salesforce/Hitachi
If not, your core knowledge should make certification on these systems easy enough.
Don't get left behind!

How complicated are "cloud systems"....Lolz - They're freaking client-server models - but stick the word "Cloud" in there and everyone craps themselves about having to learn a new technology....
*Sorry DB - just tired of hearing about "the Cloud" as if it's some new shiny paradigm. Shit I've been running a "cloud" server since 1993 - that's right bitches - 1993 - before web 2.0 (or whatever the shit that marketing term stands for)

I guess it depends on how advanced you are.
If you're not an enterprise level network admin then AWS is probably way too complex for your ass.
If you are, then you need to learn their systems in order to wring maximum efficiency from them and not lose your shirt when traffic spikes hit.
If I were a betting man, I'd wager that if I set you down in front of the AWS front end and asked you to build a virtual server farm capable of scaling to the network and security demands of Instagram you'd be singing a different tune.

Nobody's degree covers cloud solutions. Those programs don't exist yet. The degree didn't cover much of anything that I've actually used in my career, though.DBTrek wrote:I hope your degree covers cloud solutions.

I work in IT for a NASA contractor. We're currently looking at using AWS for our offsite data backups (encrypted, of course), but I'm extremely skeptical of using it for anything more than that. I don't like the idea of using someone else's computer for sensitive data. I am 110% sure that I'm not alone on this.

I'm 100% sure that AWS and AZURE cloud servers are up to date with their security, whereas the government, and government contractors in particular, have among the worst records for keeping data secure in the history of the modern world.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I work in IT for a NASA contractor.
