I've been marching (every protest I've been to is full of friendly, real -not paid, passionate and PEACEfUL protestors from all walks of life, btw), calling my elected officials regularly, and heavily supporting organizations that I think are critically important right now. Like PP, the NYT and WA post, ACLU, and programs for homeless children.

I guess that makes moments like the other day, when my 6-yo was grabbing my butt and I asked her what she was doing, and she said "Don't worry mommy, I'm not doing it in a bad way like Trump", not wholly horrifying. Anyway, still hope you all are well.

This is a sock puppet right? Ooky always seemed pretty reasonable on the DCF... but I can't imagine she explained "grab em by the pussy" to her daughter so the daughter could make Trump jokes later. Also, I can't imagine anyone describing wapo as a "critically important organization". Has to be fake.

I could go on, but I honestly don't figure I'll change any minds in this powerful ... bubble. But i noticed that there still are some on who are reasonable, and I did want you all to hear that, after being in despair over bush in 2000 but pretty much on my own in terms of being really concerned, I have never seen such widespread political engagement from such a wide section of the left. We are not whining or ginning up stuff to be upset about or asking for his tax returns to be released for no reason or casting a very critical eye on all the lying about Russia to avoid noticing how much he is "winning". People are truly and deeply unhappy, and it has nothing to do with with what democrat politicians tell us to care about, and right now, a lot of people intend to resist and hold *their* feet to the fire so they will resist too. You're just sharing your anecdotes and perspective so it's not going to change any minds. If there was something specific you had evidence of then it could change a mind but you won't do it by just saying "there is widespread bipartisal opposition". Which is just a dogwhistle for "whatever John McCain and Lindsay Graham said today"

It is a belief system, it's just not an organized religion. Rant was almost always wrong, especially when it came to religion.

That said this is definitely ooky, but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for an actual debate with ooky, back in the day she would debate rationally on occasion, but now she is so sure everyone who disagrees with her lives in some pro-Trump bubble, that it's pretty much impossible to get through to her. Clearly time away from those who disagree with her has just solidified her belief that the only people who ever defend Trump on anything are Trump nuthuggers, she honestly believes that horseshit and judges political opinions according to that ridiculous assumption.
