Yeah I can see this ending badly. I'm not saying that the used of natural things like shrooms is bad if done from time to time in a proper setting. However taking 1/10 does of man made LSD as a substitute for coffee or adderall is fucking insane.
There is a time for good men to do bad things.

For fuck sake, 1984 is NOT an instruction manual!

From our boy Scott Adams:

How to Know Whether You are a Real Person or a Simulation
I assume I got some (or all) of the science wrong in this blog post. The only point I want to defend is the idea that a simulated universe would probably need to create its history based on current events, whereas a “real” universe would have an objective history that never changes.

Isn't this just Nietzscheism? Have people not read any Nietzsche? I mean I've seen the interesting theoretical math that seems to lend credibility to the simulation scenario but idk this is getting dumb now.

The computer simulation idea just smacks of sour grapes due to the inability to come to grips with wave particle duality and quantum physics at large.

Keep diggin.

I used to like reading about that kind of stuff. This thread reminds me I should read more.

Tumblr science. Face palm.

I think people really don't believe that we are living in a simulation. At least the sane and thinking people. Although, I do know that this theme comes up in pop cultural like the plague but in no serious work there is scientific conclusive evidence that we are living in a simulation of any sort. This has been only a philosophical argument and it will probably stay as one as well.

The universe seems so vast, our universe seems way too complex for anyone to program, and not to mentioned that amount of power it would take to generate a universe like ours- if it were a simulation.

What if we are just part of Nukedog's dream, and when he wakes up, we will all disappear?
