ISIS is there too

the Taliban are now in a war with ISIS for control of Afghanistan
So what's the over under on these two teams for the prize?

Taliban has home court advantage.

That has always counted for a lot in Afghanistan... everything in the end.

again, it's just no man's land in the larger cold war between India & Pakistan

so there is no end game

Pakistani backed Taliban forces to the south

Indian backed Anti-Taliban forces will dominate the Panshir Valley

ISIS will be like AQ, a Saudi backed rogue element in the mix

but the main event in theatre will be driven by the cold war on the Subcontinent

this is also why China is moving in now

China & India are locked into an escalating thermonuclear standoff

with a border war confrontation between them

so China backs Pakistan against India

but China is now deploying its power into Afghanistan to undermine India's influence as well

this is actually a rather desperate move by China

because China has the weaker allies, Pakistan & Co

India is making much better moves

India is allying itself with Japan, South Korea, Vietnam, Singapore, Australia & America

The CCP is in a very weak position, which is why they are barking so loudly right now. China's 20+ year outlook is very poor, but they are still the largest external threat America and the West. As long as we treat them as a serious threat, it will be much like the Soviet Union where if we wait long enough they will either reform to more western standards or collapse from within. Right now they are desperate to gain influence with everyone in order to manipulate and exploit everyone to their advantage to change their future.

India is likely to be the next China, the next country the West pumps a lot of money into. Being an less insular society and not a top down dictatorship, it is much more likely to be a positive partner than China has been.

agreed, China is not ten feet tall, they got big problems

right now they are just exploiting America's political divide

but it's not like America is their only problem, nor even their biggest problem

that being said, they definitely have increasingly malign influence over Canada

they clearly have Justin Trudeau and the Liberals in their pocket

Canada is entirely propped up by commodities

America is freezing Canada out trade wise

so Canada is becoming increasingly dependant on Beijing

the main weapon China has is their $3.84 trillion US dollar currency reserve

their arm of decision is bribery with America's money, but that is America dependent in the end

Seems to me that China’s biggest problem is China.
Internal political tensions will be their undoing….
Only so long the iron fist can hold out.

The question is will the regime that eventually overthrows this one be better or worse,
Worse is always the concern.

China's problem is that they are landlocked with limited access to the high seas

and they are surrounded on all sides by mortal enemies

that wouldn't change even if they weren't Communist anymore

Less landlocked than Germany and just as surrounded by enemies….

If they get a reckless hawk at the wheel, it could get dicey…

An alliance to stop them will be simple enough.

But It’s the nukes that concern us all.

Xi Jinping is a reckless hawk

things are getting dicey now

the alliance is starting to form in the face of it

but that alliance is increasingly being led by India instead of America

India & Japan are China's principle adversaries

Russia is also one, but the Chinese have subjugated the Russians financially
