All that Gulf Coast stuff doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is the true coast and some of the inland portions of Central Florida.

That Tampa/St. Pete area is full of pirates.

If the storm surge projections at the moment are accurate, then:
Melbourne and Daytona Beach is going to get 3-6 foot surge,
West Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdale and Miami is going to get a 5-10 foot surge.

It's not just the gulf coast that is going to see a storm surge here dude, that's why Irma being the size of Texas is such a big deal, makes for a bigger and wider ranging storm surge.

My father's house could be gone if Melbourne gets a 6 foot storm surge.

I read that Lake Houston is almost dried up. They could use the rain.

Here's hoping it's closer to 3 feet then. Good luck.

Irma > Harvey, get real homer.
When it comes to Hurricanes that make landfall in the US, a Cat 4 that is wettest atlantic hurricane on record, because of it's epic lollygagging, that's neat.

A Cat 5 however, that's a generational hurricane. 1935, 1969, 1992, 2017 (probably). You don't see a Cat 5 US landfall every day.

Irma is a bitch, sure, but a generational one. This ain't no hoax, don't let daralon's shenanigans fool you.
