Garmin still down after 2 days. Considering paying off the hackers.
It boggles me that they wouldn’t have offsite backups... must have gotten them compromised somehow.

Until 2004 Harvard didn't have an Email backup system... and I know this first hand. The reason, the email server crashed and they lost a decade+ of email history.
The funny thing was that I asked that in the interview about any backup servers, and they specifically said "We haven't had a need for it."
So yeah, if a university worth billions didn't have a valid backup system, why do you think a company like Garmin should?
