Monte also loves F1. Has for decades. We should not be allowed to have a Christmas tree or send cards to our loved ones but he is free to support a hobby that involves massive amounts of wasted fuel, tires, etc...
F1 has advanced fuel efficiency and tyre development far more than driving around in circles in technologically retarded cars or racing down a quarter mile straight in NOS fuelled death traps ever has but keep coming at me I'm enjoying this.

Ps I don't think I ever said you can't send Christmas cards I just pointed out that it was one of the reasons I don't like Christmas.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Why are you comparing F1 to Nascar and drag racing? The only defense you have is to deflect away from your own harm of the planet with "oh, yeah, well look over here at this other thing that is worse". Hypocrite.

No, F1 has a positive effect on the improvement of the two things you mentioned. F1 has also improved safety with anti-lock brakes.

Your whole argument, on the other hand, seems to boil down to ''you can't be a true believer unless you act like a monk''.
That's the same sort of weak shit that says ''flying to a world summit on climate control is polluting the planet''.
It really comes down to the net benefit. F1 has improved fuel consumption and tyre life for millions of ordinary cars and those guys flying to climate summits are trying their hardest to improve the planet.

Now is that all you've got or are you going to say something clever next?

Please quote where I said I was a leftist.
 For fucking real? You too? Why cant you people ever be honest. That's hateful, when you can't even admit what is readily apparent. Maybe you are accused of lying because you are lying about the most fundamental things. How can you lecture us that we are wrong about leftist beliefs then give your wife as an example then renege when confronted?

My dislike of Christmas (just like others love for it) has nothing to do with Christ.
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/christmas/2 ... part-dont/
“I then went on to calculate the combined cost of all of my cards, and the idea ‘clicked’ that the cost could be put to better use with an online alternative to greeting cards,” he explained to The Telegraph.

“I then realised that we were spending a ridiculous amount sending what are essentially bits of cardboard to each other.

“This seemed especially wasteful at Christmas when in many cases people just quickly scribble their name with no message.

“So the venture was created based on the concept of redirecting a proportion of this vast amount spent on greeting cards.”
How many lorries does it take to deliver 1 billion Christmas cards to shops and then send them by the post office to their intended recipients?
Never mind how many trees have to be cut down.

I have had a no Christmas card policy for over 25 years now and am still awaiting the year when I receive zero cards.
Don't get me started on wrapping paper...

I love spending time with my family and eating good food but hate the waste and pollution generated.
Amazing lefty's only discover the negative aspects of rent seeking when they can shit on people's religous, holiday, and voluntary economic expenditures but when it comes to government they call it "economic stimulus."

No they are not, they are there to hobnob when they could teleconference. Look at how you see the world, full of hate, only people that lap doggedly agree with you are trying to save the world, do good deeds, everyone else, dogs to be controlled, take away their rights of free speech (nazi pugs), to self defense (common sense gun control), their economic liberties, the car they drive, the house they live in, even their hobbies arent safe but your are. Your life is justified your hobbies are justified because you believe in the right people. All of that because you are convinced these heroes know better than all the rest of us. It's a religion you give a few rights and some independence to those people "trying to improve the planet" and they will work their miracles and all your sins will be forgiven and you wont have to live like a monk.

The automotive industry says that F1 does great things for you and the environment, well that's all the proof English Flaggot needs.

You can’t win with these people Monte, you set a good example and live by your your beliefs they’ll critique you for not going far enough to commit low impact suicide for the planet, but even if you did live like a monk their next line would be decrying how impractical it is. It’s really about their own justifications that allow them to not care.

You carry goalposts around like Jesus carried the cross. It's actually really funny reading just how far you will reach to try and justify the same actions you scold others for.

You now say that one does not need to live like monk, only do things that are a net benefit. I already mentioned the recycling of the Christmas trees and planting new ones to replace those cut down. Naturally you avoided responding that to that point because you know it shows I do things that are a net benefit as you would call it.

Your excuses for F1 are a joke. Improved safety does not require toting F1 cars around the globe, along with all the carbon wasting gear and personnel that goes with it. This just shows everyone just how much of a hypocrite you are.

My argument was never that you had to act like a monk. It was that your judgmental, condescending, holier than thou (which is a bit ironic given your hatred of Christmas) attitude does not come down from a carbon-free ivory tower, but from a fossil fuel using truck home from which you watch carbon emitting F1 cars parade (not race) around the world, surrounded by the carcasses of dead trees you trot around to make toy slingshots. Hyp-o-crite.

I'm not critiquing him for his beliefs. I'm calling him out for his hypocrisy. He's the one doing the critiquing everyone else's lives. Just like you do. You both probably resent the rest of us for being able to live a happy life doing the things we want. I don't care that you only eat plants and that Monte lives in a mobile home. Go live your life. Talk it up if you want, but the second you start criticizing my life choices and acting superior is when you will get called out.
