Smashville is loaded up for the Cup run, last thing Fife n' Co need right now, is to be sending their bug guns to Korea, don't fuck with it, when you're Smashville in the window with a bullet right now, teams which aren't contending, whatevs, but if you are contending, do not tempt the Hockey Gods, just leave well enough alone.

Hmmm. It's entirely possible we have 2+ weeks of polite conversation coming into existence. We'll be BFFs in no-time!clubgop wrote:I love the Olympics, I will be watching as much as I can. NBC does a pretty good job overall their channels. Winter is more manageable, I love all the speed skating, bobsled, luge, downhill skiing, snowboard cross, basically anything that isn't judged. Even the Spengler hockey, but it is not the same.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_m ... broadcastsThe 2008 Summer Olympics opening ceremony holds the record for the largest viewing figure for any sports event, reaching an average daily audience of 593 million worldwide,[11]. More than 5 billion people saw some part of the 16-day coverage, including the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing-hosted Olympic games.[12][13] The FIFA World Cup [14][11] has attracted an average of 3.2 billion viewers in 2010 and 2014, making it the most watched overall live event by average on television worldwide in the 21st century.
But yeah the IOC and FIFA don't know what they are doing.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

All the more reason for the NHL to tell them to take a lap if they ain't coughing up the big bucks, no ticky, no Papi, 100% with the NHL on this, fuck the Olympics and the Eurofaggot horse they rode in on.

Imagine what they could do if they had any competence whatsoever. They might sit on the biggest cash cows but that doesn't mean they both ain't leaving lots of money on table in fits of incompetency, that's totally a thing. Soccer fans know this about FIFA, they don't live in denial, it's only the Olympics fanboi's who can't see it in the IOC.Montegriffo wrote:But yeah the IOC and FIFA don't know what they are doing.

Hockey happens on cable, never on NBC, and usually during the day.clubgop wrote:
It isn't in there best intreat when they can not pay a bunch of college kids to play for 3/5 the ratings. And as I said they sin't paying anyway, NBC is.
Prime time NBC is skiing, snowboarding, figure skating & speed skating, with a bit of luge and bobsled.
Curling, hockey and cross country are relegated to cable during the day.

Professional sports are fundamentally incompatible with the Olympics.
The NBA gets a free ride, because the Olympics big-wigs magically made basketball a "summer" sport.
The whole idea of having paid athletes in the modern Olympics is a tub of shitte.

Leaving a lot of money on table for no good reason is a smart move to Olympics fanboys who love the Olympics too much to actually think that through properly.
