Probably a severe property crime wave in the heartland. The MSM will ignore it, and the establishment will try to subvert it at first, like OWS. But this won't be a bunch of kids with nothing to do chanting in Central Park. This will be angry, desperate people looking for answers.
First signs will be massive protests in DC, NYC, Seattle, then a bunch of seemingly-unrelated riots over minor issues. Neighbors will post Trespassing signs around the cul-de-sacs, and grocery stores will be emptied in an awkward, competitive scrum. As the economy crumbles under the weight of its debt and stupidity, people will stop paying mortgages, stop paying for cars, and start resisting reposessions. Industry will grind to a halt, as nobody can afford to buy the things they were making.
At that point, we'll either get New Deal 2.0, or martial law and revolution. There is no other outcome, at this point.
What's the tipping point for this GCF?
I scrolled back a few pages...
The US government is insolvent. We printed up an extra few trillion dollars in '08, and it's finally coming out to play. The 10-year notes used to create it are coming due this month, and need to be re-issued, which means more inflation. The market went vertical this month, in a classic blow-off top, and will be down 50% by summer/fall. The US dollar is already down 3% this month.
3% of your money vaporized in a month. At that rate, you've lost nearly half of it by Christmas.
It's already in motion. No further triggers needed, though there will be many. Next, the US government will "strike a deal" with the Fed, to get "special lending rates" on their bonds, outside of the regular market, effectively handing ownership of the government to them (same as 2008). When you see that, start filling some water jugs.
Dinosaurs like Smitty will be frantically waving their rifles around, looking for an enemy to smite, but the enemy is the state itself. They owned, and have sold us all.
