Not really that far from the Caps level, there's nobody on the Caps D I would trade for nor sign, the Leafs are far from a Kieth and Seabrook, but so is Washington. Washington is actually no closer to that than the Leafs are.

True, I never claimed the Caps D were elite, I claimed that they better than Columbus especially when it comes to depth, and the Blue Jackets D certainly isn't elite either.

True, I never claimed the Caps D were elite, I claimed that they better than Columbus especially when it comes to depth, and the Blue Jackets D certainly isn't elite either.

I'd say they're about the same, but Jones and Werenski have a higher ceiling than Carlson and Niskanen, I don't think anybody in the league would trade Columbus' D for Washington's, Jones and Werenski have elite top pairing ceiling, Carlson and Niskanen are who they are, and they would be the second D pairing on Columbus.
