Once you get dat nookie, you'll brighten up, no rush. This will all blow over in a few hours at most, no need to force it.

I don't care what other people say and I don't know what is going to happen
All I know is, the bug is WMD
My duty is to protect my wife from WMD
That is the dictionary definition of DEFCON 1
Other men can defend their cute feet white girls as they will
With mine, I don't take any chances whatsoever in the fog of war

Mrs. Smitty has my back, she just doesn't know it. God Bless Her.
She is infinitely better at cheering you up than I am.

I terms of my own safety, it doesn't do her any good for me to become a casualty
I can't protect her if I am dead
So I have to stay alive, therefore I am at DEFCON 1 too
If it's a false alarm, I won't be sorry, I did what I deemed necessary at the breach, in the fog of war

Your strategy works great for you and your wife based on your situation, I wouldn't advise you any different. I ain't mad at you or Mrs. Smitty, not at all, go on with your bad selves, my ire is saved for the counter-productive morons in government, but their incompetence doesn't piss me off so much as they make me laugh, the laughter far outweighs the minor annoyance.Smitty-48 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 27, 2020 12:57 amI terms of my own safety, it doesn't do her any good for me to become a casualty

It's like my buddy Dyer was a super soldier
Better than me
Got hit with a 500lb bomb while on the practice range, dropped by an American F-16
Boom, dead
You don't know what is going to happen in a war
Civilians are not afraid of it, because they don't know it

Guilty as charged. Of course that isn't the only reason I'm not worried, but that totally plays into it, I'm sure.
My bias is as plain as day on that one, to wit, I would say that wouldn't I?

You're 31 so you feel invincible
I'm 51 so I'm no I'm not
Mrs Smitty can't afford for me not to know my limitations
With said limitations, I have to go to DEFCON 1, because I have no margin for error

Indeed, there is good reason for our very different reactions, one size does not fit all.
You might be overreacting and I might be underreacting, or vice versa, but it makes sense based on our differing situations. That is one of the major reasons I'm so against these draconian government crackdowns that are one size fits all.
