What are you too good for the damn bus? You really need to work on that attitude buddy! Ever hear of Huffy? They make these things called bikes and you pedal them to get where you need to go. I'll bet for $300 2017 dollars you could get a damn fine six speeder. Maybe use the left over money to buy yourself some RoseArt trapper keepers and crayons for your first day at Miss Peregrine's school for Peculiar Homosexuals.MilSpecs wrote:I couldn't get a running car today for the adjusted dollars now.

I went to the local used car place and the cheapest running car he had was $2400 (for my child last year).Smitty-48 wrote:That's $1364.00, there's plenty of used cars on autotrader for that, much better cars than anything you could find in 1975. There's perfectly serviceable cars for even less than that, inflation adjusted, you can find cars which would pass any inspeaction, for less than $300 1975 dollars.MilSpecs wrote:Adjust $300 and tell me if you could get a car that could pass inspection.Okeefenokee wrote:

I took the subway and the bus for awhile. Hard to ride a bike in a skirt and too far anyways.heydaralon wrote:What are you too good for the damn bus? You really need to work on that attitude buddy! Yes, well you've already proven yourself to be intellectually lazy, and I guess you ain't much for making the effort when it comes to finding deals on cars neither.MilSpecs wrote:I went to the local used car place and the cheapest running car he had was $2400 (for my child last year).Smitty-48 wrote:That's $1364.00, there's plenty of used cars on autotrader for that, much better cars than anything you could find in 1975. The idea that you need a car in New York is absurd, I've never done anything but walk, bike, and take the transit in New York, same thing in Toronto. Whether NYC or the T-Dot, a car is a big pain in the ass, I never drive in the city, I just take the train in.MilSpecs wrote:I took the subway and the bus for awhile. I used to be poor but I'm not now. Older got an Audi. Younger got a serviceable $5000 Hyundai. If I had to get the cheapest car on the local lot, it would have to be the $2400 one. It never occurred to me to buy a used car online.MilSpecs wrote:Smitty-48 wrote:Yes, well you've already proven yourself to be intellectually lazy, and I guess you ain't much for making the effort when it comes to finding deals on cars neither.MilSpecs wrote:

Depends where you live and where you work. You need a car in Staten Island and parts of Brooklyn. I lived on the Bronx border so the need for a car depended on where I was working.Smitty-48 wrote:The idea that you need a car in New York is absurd, I've never done anything but walk, bike, and take the transit in New York, same thing in Toronto. I have three cars, but if I drove to NYC, I would just park it for the duration and walk, bike, and take the transit everywhere.MilSpecs wrote:I used to be poor but I'm not now. Older got an Audi.
