It will be interesting to see how the Turtle is going to cobble together 50 neocon votes for this Swamp POS.Speaker to Animals wrote:GrumpyCatFace wrote:Who is your quote from? That’s some Level 10 Orwellian double-speak right there.Speaker to Animals wrote:"... we can no longer allow Assange and his colleagues the latitude to use free speech values against us. To give them the space to crush us with misappropriated secrets is a perversion of what our great Constitution stands for. It ends now.... Assange and his ilk make common cause with dictators today. Yes, they try unsuccessfully to cloak themselves and their actions in the language of liberty and privacy; in reality, however, they champion nothing but their own celebrity. Their currency is clickbait; their moral compass, nonexistent. Their mission: personal self-aggrandizement through the destruction of Western values."
So "western values" means a pervasive surveillance state in which all the fundamental human rights are rendered parchment contracts, people kidnapped off to secret torture sites, all our personal information collected by the government and used against us in illegal "parallel construction" cases, and "freedom of speech" cannot be weaponized against the very people who wish to violate the Constitution and laws.
The new CIA director.
It's time for Lee and Cruz to get some fucking lead in their pencils.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
It's been a long time since so many people have been looking to Congress to do their job.
I wonder if anyone's keeping a tally or historical comparison.

If you'll recall, not too long ago, the president said he wanted something, and the majority speaker said, "let's pass this thing so we can find out what's in it," and then they did.Ph64 wrote:My guess is we'll still be looking a decade from now.Okeefenokee wrote:It's been a long time since so many people have been looking to Congress to do their job.

Contrast that with the current state.

https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/14/politics ... index.htmlA federal appeals court upheld most provisions of a controversial Texas law that prohibits sanctuary city policies in the state -- a win for Republican Gov. Greg Abbott.
The bill, referred to as SB4, established civil penalties for local government and law enforcement officials who don't comply with immigration laws and detention requests. It was blocked by a lower court in August, just before it went into effect.
In a win for Abbott, a three-judge panel of the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Tuesday that the law can remain in effect while the court case plays out. That applies to all but one provision, which punishes local officials for "endorsing" policies that limit enforcement of immigration laws.

Are we headed to secession? Think the Federal Government has the ballz to do anything? I'm guessing not....Beginning of the breakup?
California has its first illegal alien in state office, after Senate President pro Tem Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) appointed Lizbeth Mateo to the California Student Opportunity and Access Program Project Grant Advisory Committee.

I’d say this is good news, but the fact that the court system is on fire with disputes over whether or not being an American means something in America is not good news. It’s fucking tragic.de officiis wrote:https://www.cnn.com/2018/03/14/politics ... index.htmlA federal appeals court upheld most provisions of a controversial Texas law that prohibits sanctuary city policies in the state -- a win for Republican Gov.
