Re: Oregon: Pump Your Own Gas Crisis
Ironically Oregon does attract the unwanted types simply because we take care of our people, we provide services to the homeless and jobless. The good for nothing other states simply make it illegal to not have a job but do nothing about unemployment, thus we wind up with an excess of down and outers, but we have many gas station jobs so it works out in the end.

Day Four of Oregon Pumping Its Own Gas: A Survivor’s Account of the End of the World of Oregon
We all braced for the worst when the announcement was handed down that Oregonians would have to here-on pump their own fuel into their own cars like savages. We braced for the worst because we knew the worst was coming, and savages we became.
It started off with silly pictures. Maybe you saw them and laughed, but as the country laughed around us, we stood transfixed in horror. We were like children abandoned, and alone in a world of mystery and terror.

But think of all the people who lost their jobs so you can cruise in and out of Wallyworld in five minutes.

I pay extra to avoid Walmart, whenever possible. Free market, baby.TheReal_ND wrote:Waiting twice as long to checkout a few itemsGrumpyCatFace wrote:I avoid the self-checkout lines. Can’t stand em. But I don’t want them banned.

The females that shop at Target are a bit higher up on the visual scale, honestly. But then, some of the females that shop at Target are not really females, so it's a trade-off, I suppose.

Target is a ripoff tho. I just go to the actual grocery store. I'd rather deal with snobby pensioners than the swarthy masses, banging my cart and cussing on their obamaphones.

Target is gay homo sex but does have slightly better looking patrons. Enjoy the rip off deals. I'll just go to Wal-Mart. THE ONLY STORE THAT ACCOMMODATES HOMELESS PEOPLE AND PLANTS ACTUAL FUCKING SHADE TREES EVERYWHERE

And now the water mains are breaking from the prolonged deep freeze. Stay warm!Penner wrote:MilSpecs wrote:It's been like 0 degrees here for weeks, which is when having someone pump your gas for you is nice.
Its currently 3 degrees here (tonight's lowest temp is -1. Tomorrow's high is going to be 5 degrees (at best) and they are saying that tomorrow's night's temp is going to be as low as -3 ) and with like -18 wind chills (tomorrow is supposed to be something like - 33 wind chills) and staying in my car so I don't have to pump my gas doesn't sound so bad.
