The funding issue is really not controversial. It's an experimental procedure. If they don't want to spend the money on it, then that's their prerogative. The issue is allowing this child to leave in the first place.

Correct.

States build walls. Not walls against getting in, but walls against getting out.

President Donald J. Trump has backed the fight to save the critically ill British baby Charlie Gard, saying he would be “delighted” to “help” the boy after a European court ruled his parents could not privately fund a final attempt to treat him.
The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) has been slammed for acting like a “death panel” after denying Charlie’s parents the chance to take their son to the U.S. for “experimental treatment”.

The court argued that little Charlie was too ill, could not be saved, and must “die with dignity” in the UK.

His mother disagreed, insisting, “Charlie should get a chance to try these medications”, explaining: “He literally has nothing to lose but potentially a healthier, happier life to gain.”
Seriously.... one of you should look up who the ECHR are, what they do, and what their limitations are. It's the British health care system and its laws that have ultimate jurisdiction. The mother tried going to the court to argue that the way her national government treated her was a human rights violation. It wont be that court that fines thhe mother if she goes to the US for treatment.

I was expecting a yuropoor to congratulate us on our independence like a fool. I've always made a point to note their celebrations but I seem to have fucking erred in assuming things like mutual respect from the likes of yuropoors that do nothing but trash talk us at every turn.

Happy Independence Day you sad sorry fucks. We are never bailing you out again btw

I'm not familiar with any European holidays, so I don't expect anything from them on the 4th.

It's probably known more as "that day we got a rude letter from our colony, which kicked off Hundred Years War IV"

Well, for me this is just Tuesday, a work day. Of course, this being Aalborg, though, I got remembered about the significance of the day early on:

Like in that last picture, American flags are everywhere today. The forest, Rebild, near Aalborg annually holds one of the largest 4th of July celebration outside the US, the US ambassador usually visits, along with whomever American celebrity, author, artist, etc. they can convince to hold a speech (and who has a relationship to Denmark, it being just as much a US-Denmark friendship festival.

But hey, Nuke... from me personally, then: Happy Independence Day!

It's never too late to admit you made a mistake.......
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
