Ok, just for giggles, what exactly is the deal that we've made, for your 2,000 mile environmental hazard?
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

No deal yet, but negotiations that will actually go somewhere are forthcoming. Trump wants to use more US steel to build the pipeline from what I hear. The environmental hazard would be greater without a larger pipeline to transport Canadian oil to American ports and transporting the oil through America via rail or with some other method more dangerous than a pipeline instead. So you are over blowing the environmental concerns of Keystone XL, massively.

EnviroBolshies will oppose any god damn pipeline, seriously fuck y'all, pipelines are THE safest method of transporting oil, so shut the fuck already with environmental concerns. America's only real beef with any Keystone XL plan should be that they aren't getting as much out of the deal as they'd like and Canada has the way better end of the deal.

Maybe DJT could throw in some easy credit from the resurrected EX-IM bank.

Rail obviously is not as risky as a transcontinental pipeline. It simply cuts into your bottom line.

If you want to build a pipeline across our nation, then you should make it worth our while. This is our territory.

I would be happy to compromise by just ending the pipeline in the Midwest and delivering the futures contracts there. Otherwise, make it worth the risk..

Rail is more dangerous and obviously so, pipelines are the safest method of oil transportation on top of it also being the cheapest method, double win. It cuts into our bottom line but also your environment, you are fucking yourselves over too by holding it up. It's already worth your while and after negotiations with Trump, it will be even more worth your while.

You pretending that we have to make massive concessions to make Keystone XL worth your while is simply not factual.

Bullshit.

Each car is a contained unit. If one car leaks, we only have to cleanup what that one car contained. Even if an entire train derails, the mess is limited to however many cars punctured in the wreck.

When a large pipeline breaks, it's a huge fucking disaster. When that happens, Canada isn't going to open their coffers to pay for cleanup. Canada doesn't have to face the environmental consequences.

We already dealt with this with BP and what they did to our Gulf Coast communities.

If you want to use our territory and resources to further your nation's economy, then you should make it worth our while, including matching the risk we face with ongoing rewards. Otherwise, run the pipeline to New Brunswick or to Vancouver.

Lac Megantic proves you wrong. Rail car disasters happen all the time and when they do they can be quite big and kill quite a good number of people. Sure when pipeline bursts it's a bigger disaster environmentally but pipeline bursts also happen far less often than rail car disasters, so pipelines are actually safer for the environment in the long run.

And.. the environmental damage is quite limited compared to a fucking oil pipeline rupture..

Also, if it's so dangerous to use rail, then use your own fucking rails and deliver your own oil to your own ports.

Right but the oil pipeline rupture happens less often than rail cars exploding or leaking. The environmental damage from rail transport of oil adds up in increments and outweighs the damage done by pipelines. We are building our own pipelines and using our own rails, on our own territory, we just want Keystone XL as a cherry on top.

Just because the deal would help us doesn't mean that it would hurt you. Keystone XL is not a zero sum game, both sides can easily come out of negotiations ahead of where they began.
