I'm not against pomp & circumstance, per se. I support the troops, but to me, a better way to honor them would be to end perpetual war and stop putting so many lives at risk. A parade, which is good for feelz, doesn't do that as well, IMO.

It is, and the bar is so fucking low right now I'm celebrating the current POTUS for successfully navigating one year in office without starting a new one. Reminds me of Dan's show about how late Rome the politicians just kept going out and getting in wars to get their street cred and wealth up.

Persian Gulf War Victory parade in 1991 was pretty big...... there was a lot of make up overreacting going on because people felt guilty about how they treated troops in Vietnam.
A guy in uniform couldn't pay for a drink for months.

As far as perpetual war.. That shit was baked into the cake the moment women got the vote with zero obligation to serve. History shows women in general are quite liberal with male lives (carrying your shield or on it).
They can talk a great game about ending endless war but they vote for Hillary, Obama, and Bill.
