Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
So I see a headline on Google news titled "Hollywood, spare us your hypocrisy". I saw it was from CNN, and thought, wow, that's a bit of a surprise. I wonder how they let that in.
Here's the link: http://www.cnn.com/2017/01/09/opinions/ ... y-stanley/
Sadly (and what should have been expected), the author ends up condemning Hollywood for basically not being Liberal enough. He doesn't see them as hypocrites for the reasons we do, he thinks they are hypocrites for not hiring enough disabled and minority actors, and not having enough interracial couples. Their other big sin is showing too much violence in a Star Wars film. He wishes they'd use their movies not as entertainment and an escape from the daily grind, but as a way to basically brainwash us into thinking the way they do.

I hope they block him. Hard to say what we might get on round two if that happens, though.Fife wrote:Well the confirmation fun starts this week.
Will Senators Paul, Cruz, Flake, Lee, or any other GOP dead-enders call on Sessions to answer for his stupid Obama/Holder/Lynch positions?
Conservatives Should Think Twice before Supporting Jeff Sessions
SAD!For instance, he sharply departs from the growing bipartisan consensus on criminal-justice reform. . . .
At a time when 32 states have legalized medical and/or recreational use of marijuana, Sessions told a Senate hearing last April that, “we need grown-ups in charge in Washington to say marijuana is not the kind of thing that ought to be legalized, it ought not to be minimized, that it’s in fact a very real danger.” . . .
Moreover, as George Will has pointed out, Sessions also opposes the reform of asset-forfeiture laws. He has defended these laws, which are considered by most observers to be widely abused, as a means of taking money from people who have “done nothing in their lives but sell dope.” . . .
Elsewhere, he has defended the ability of the NSA and other federal agencies to spy on Americans. Last April, the Republican-controlled House of Representatives unanimously passed the Email Privacy Act, designed to require that law-enforcement agencies receive a warrant before they can compel tech firms such as Google and Microsoft to hand over Americans’ stored cell-phone communications. Sessions introduced an amendment to the bill that would have created a loophole allowing law enforcement to demand such data without a warrant. . . .
Finally, he has opposed legislation protecting the jobs of federal whistle-blowers and shield laws protecting journalists from having to disclose their sources.

Somebody should ask Putin who the backup appointee is. The current laughter clips are overplayed.

Russians get drunk on hand sanitizer. Something tells me Sessions isn't a fan.

That's a brilliant strategy. "oh, you don't want me to cut my arm off? Well fuck you!!"Speaker to Animals wrote:Yeah, I like that these picks are getting their manginas in a twist. That's qualification enough. If the progs like the appointee, then I am against him.

Well, I don't smoke weed, and I don't post ISIS propaganda on Facebook, so it's not like Sessions is a threat to me personally.

I don't either, but I still say the drug war needs to end. Going after sanctuary cities is okay with me.Speaker to Animals wrote:GrumpyCatFace wrote:That's a brilliant strategy.
