It’s a Twilight Zone of misinformation. I don’t even try to talk about things with Normies anymore.PartyOf5 wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 6:12 amYou'd think with so many places running out of gas there would be more from the major "news" sites on this. Main page of Google News doesn't even mention it.
Are widespread shortages like the one in D.C. really happening? If so, how it is affecting the people living there that need to get to work every day? it just seems like there is either a blackout of this information or it's really not a big deal. Maybe the high percentage reports of being out of gas are incorrect, or maybe those running out are being replenished quickly.
Just feels like a disconnect going on somewhere with this.

That link is from a local news station, they reference an app called Gas Buddy. I'm sure many locals are feeling it.PartyOf5 wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 6:12 amYou'd think with so many places running out of gas there would be more from the major "news" sites on this. Just checked. Fox Business is now reporting
Ongoing gas shortage leaves nearly 90% of DC pumps without fuel
As of Sunday evening, about 12,466 stations had run empty, according to GasBuddy analyst Patrick De Haan.
In his latest update around 8 p.m. CT, De Haan said nearly 90% of the gas stations in the nation’s capital were running dry. Over the weekend, the number of gas stations suffering from the outages fluctuated between 69% to 88%, according to De Haan's data posted on Twitter.
Meanwhile, nearly 60% of stations in North Carolina were out of fuel and about half of the gas stations in South Carolina had no gas as of late Sunday evening. In Georgia, about 43% of stations were out of gas.

Looks like the capital of the most powerful nation on earth doesn't have fuel.

In a pre-Biden world that would be big news.

Yes. They can't hide that from the locals though.
It's like NYC. All last year they told us NYC was the model for dealing with COVID. But in reality it was maybe the worst, and people left in droves, and they aren't going back.

I couldn't get gas for about 3 days total. The trash was still picked up. There's a indicator for future disruptions and your window.

Technology and "Free" Trade has supplanted labor camps; "Re-education" camps might be on the horizon but that's not what I was talking about, I meant the propaganda, indoctrination & brainwashing; most people, almost everyone, are incapable of rejecting the established narrative.DBTrek wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 8:24 amYeah .... with mass renditions to forced labor camps.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 8:19 amRemember, the Soviets were able to continue like this for decades.

You don't see a constant and continuous ideological struggle over narrative?Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 8:28 amTechnology and "Free" Trade has supplanted labor camps; "Re-education" camps might be on the horizon but that's not what I was talking about, I meant the propaganda, indoctrination & brainwashing; most people, almost everyone, are incapable of rejecting the established narrative.DBTrek wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 8:24 amYeah .... with mass renditions to forced labor camps.Martin Hash wrote: ↑Wed May 19, 2021 8:19 amRemember, the Soviets were able to continue like this for decades.
