Doesn't sound like any of y'all have figured out which team you need to be on.

The political labeling is reaching critical mass . . .

Indeed, the words go back to the summer of 1789, regarding the self-segregating seating in the National Assembly following the Estates-General.

The actual referents of the words are what are lost on this crowd. I'm not being obtuse, or mean. I just have a thing about stuff like abusing the most chronicled parts of history. It's hard to grant much artistic license when people are stretching reality so much.

So how are the referents lost on me in particular... I would like to know.

I'm probably picking too fine a nit. Skip it. I withdraw the barb.

I'm starting to question the Intellectual Dark Web and it's promoted members.

What do these guys stand for and why are they being promoted ?

They hit it big when the NY Times did a favorable article on them, while taking shots at folks like Cernovich and Jones.
https://www.nytimes.com/2018/05/08/opin ... k-web.html

Weinstein who coined the term described the founding this way.
“You have to understand that the I.D.W. emerged as a response to a world where perfectly reasonable intellectuals were being regularly mislabeled by activists, institutions and mainstream journalists with every career-ending epithet from ‘Islamophobe’ to ‘Nazi,’” Eric Weinstein said. “Once I.D.W. folks saw that people like Ben Shapiro were generally smart, highly informed and often princely in difficult conversations, it’s more understandable that occasionally a few frogs got kissed here and there as some I.D.W. members went in search of other maligned princes.”
I like the idea of an Intellectual Dark Web that is anti-Globalist, anti-Progressive and brave enough to openly support Western Traditions. Then I look at people like Sam Harris, Ben Shapiro and Dan Carlin, and that's not really who they are................. which is really making me wonder if the Intellectual Dark Web is just a safe, slower moving alternative for people who have rejected globalism........... but the IDW is heading them down the same track.

When you look at these folks backgrounds, it screams Leftist Progressive shills. Which is unsettling to me.

It's a group of liberals trying to hold the line against the SJWs, not sure where you got any anti-Globalist vibes from
