You can adopt what I have adopted........... short term cynical, long term optimistic.GrumpyCatFace wrote:You’re not wrong man. I’m doing great at work, but the home life isn’t easy. You are coming across as a person who feels utterly out of control of their life, a little depressed and backed into a corner.
I like ya, get some rest........... need someone to cheer you up ?
Just have to push through, I guess. I’ll be fine next year.
More than anything, I’m starting to realize that things aren’t looking good for the future (economically, socially, etc). I’m running out of reasons to be optimistic, when the most cynical view is nearly always correct. Things are looking grim out there.
And yeah, I can burrow down and focus on my own shit, but I have to consider how to prepare for my kids’ future. And Dude, I don’t even know what they can look forward to. A police state? Fascist SJW hellscape? Total economic ruin?
It’s a bad time to be a kid, and I’m genuinely sorry for them.
These are going to be trying times for the next few years. We are in the middle of a huge societal upheaval. Young kids don't care, just don't push your concerns on them, they need you to be pillar. And getting to know you over the last few years you'll be fine.
Lots of crazy out there in the world, frankly I'm thrilled to be alive and engaged and watching it all happen. These are historic times. Your grandkids will ask you about these days.

Whoever that guy is, had his gun pointed in the wrong direction. I’m sure that all the vets have worked really hard and sacrificed much for corporate profits, but it doesn’t do much for yours truly.

Truth be told, I’ll be a lot happier when things finally do melt down, because then at least, I’ll know how bad it’s going to be. Right now, I don’t know whether to be ready for Mad Max, or just another 1960s.

Context. Of course, there have been a dozen politicians that promised to end the Infinite War. Many of them were voted into office. Yet the Infinite War goes on.
I guess the pro-autism translation would be ‘There has never been an option that would actually end the Infinite War.’
Draft.
This shit would end tomorrow if shits like you were faced with actually facing it.

The troops in that gunfight are Canadians, that's Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry.
We get dragged into America's war, then Americans flee here, while our troops have to fight it.
What a gyp.

Just look at history, it will give you comfort. The worst things in history you could be subject to were either the Mongols or the Bubonic Plague. Neither of those are likely*. Youre concerned about economic collapse, those happen. But for people that make some preparations its not nearly so bad. On the bad scale you have Weimar Germany, on the not so bad side the 2008 collapse. So that's your range. You'll do fine in either.
* EMP attack is the wild card, but I think if youre convinced its Mad Max youre not living. You end up alone in a hole in the ground while the family has turkey dinner wondering what happened to dad.

That is why no one wants to defend you anymore. You aren't worth it. Vets are leaving to go home and leaving shitlibs like you to fend for yourselves. Again, not like I didn't tell you this years ago. The military is done with you.GrumpyCatFace wrote:I’m sure that all the vets have worked really hard and sacrificed much for corporate profits, but it doesn’t do much for yours truly.
Retention is so low that the Army is threatening to revoke benefits for anyone who doesn't want to stay in, and the result has been an increased exodus.
I told you years ago that the military was not on board with the idea that one percent of the population should carry the load of never ending war, and you scoffed at me.
Have fun with the outcome.
