The Russians are not launching a secret take over of America by brainwashing, that would be us Canadians, yo.
Putin is using the weaknesses to his advantage. That's true that it isn't at all the real problem for the US, the US political system has it's own structural problems.
Yet that Russians could do it tells something. The Russians have had to make a cost/benefit analysis of their small effort to push the elections in their favour. What could be the negative side if they get caught, if it backfires? Even when exposed, It didn't backfire . That it did came to light, that the end result was basically nothing other than few "diplomats" being sent back to Russia is a little thing. Compared that the Americans were bickering even more than before, shows how smart the bold move was. Sowing confusion works.
