It's obvious that Washington's defense is mediocre and has been mediocre for years, the no name D is on Washington, because who would really want to swap their D for Washington's D? Nobody, it's all about Ovie and Backstrom, nobody wants anybody off the Caps D, because they actually suck, whereas every team in the league would covet Jones and Werenski, because they are actually a top paring for years to come.

It's still the worst part of the Caps team, but it's also the most improved part of their team over the last few years. Jones is dope, Werenski is good but overrated, the rest are a bag of pucks, including Jack Johnson. Washington has notably more depth on defense, this is pretty clear.

Depth of mediocrity; Orlov, Alzner, Orpik and Schmidt? I like Polak and Hunwick better than any of those guys, that bottom 4 is not better than Columbus', it's not even really better than the Leafs bottom 4.

I'm gonna laugh at whoever gives Alzner big money this summer, unless it's the Leafs, in which case I will be cursing Shanalamoriello, because Alzner is just a glorified Polak.
