Six months same as cash.
They play little jingles during the cycle. That broke ass whirlpool, that used to walk across the back porch growing up, just had a buzzer.

Canadians aren't upset if Americans are getting Jewed by Wall Street by tariffs, Canadians are not envious of higher prices in America, quite the opposite in fact, certainly Canadian retailers aren't, because it keeps Canadians from crossing the border to buy cheaper products.
You're basically just being Canadianized, so it's all evening out.

You know, with the exchange rate, if you buy your washing machine in Canada, you'll get it 20% cheaper than in the US and avoid any duty at the border under the household goods exemption.

Do they even make washers and dryers in the US?

Yeah, Whirlpool makes its high end washer dryers in the USA, mostly in Ohio.

Clearly a tactical maneuver by Trump to buy votes in Ohio and try to give WHR a boost on the share price.

Indeed, it's politics as usual vote buying, but I'm not complaining, like I said, higher prices in the USA drives cross border shopping to Ontario for the 20% discount.clubgop wrote:No one complained when Obama did it in '12 with the auto bailout.Smitty-48 wrote:Clearly a tactical maneuver by Trump to buy votes in Ohio and try to give WHR a boost on the share price.

Like, your $700 washing machine in New York goes up to $910, it's $860 CAD, so if you come across the border, you get it for $700 USD again, and it's a household good, so it's exempt duty at the border.
