Euros are dying, sacrificing themselves to a false god that espouses the simple lie that the only cure for tyranny is reverse-tyranny.

Not sure how American timesheets work, or British ones for that matter, but do you file that under "Correspondence" or some similar post in your timesheet? Just to avoid confusion... you are likely to get extra pay for actual extra work hours, right?Kath wrote:I've answered 4 emails in the last 52 minutes. Hmmmm..... I feel violated.

You may want to hold off on evaluating the entire European labor market based on Monte's experience working as a juggler-chef, DB.DBTrek wrote:Euros are dying, sacrificing themselves to a false god that espouses the simple lie that the only cure for tyranny is reverse-tyranny.

That alternative approach seems considerably less entertaining than my current one.BjornP wrote:

When I worked at Boeing, if I could answer it instantly on my Blackberry then I didn't clock anything.BjornP wrote:Not sure how American timesheets work, or British ones for that matter, but do you file that under "Correspondence" or some similar post in your timesheet? If it required me to boot up the work laptop and start up software, then it was charged.
(or flex houred - ie took a longer lunch the next day or what have you)

We only clock time for government contracting here. That's for accounting.

Flex time, overtime, and time reimbursement - a few methods out of many that serious employers have utilized to address this issue which apparently only government can solve.
Please massa government, come save your poor, victimized chattel from the cubicle plantations! Don’t e-beat us no mo’, massa. Ize done read two emails already an ize fixin to fall over an DIE!
Sad.

I never qualify for extra pay no matter how many hours I work. I work for a great company, though. If I've been overworked one week, I just tell my boss and we make it up somewhere - I come in late one day or leave early another - longer lunch. It tends to balance out over time.BjornP wrote:Not sure how American timesheets work, or British ones for that matter, but do you file that under "Correspondence" or some similar post in your timesheet? I fill out no time sheet. I'm barely managed, really. I just do my work and get shit done. I mean, I have a boss, but our 1 on 1's tend to go like this: "What are you working on?"
"abc"
"ok - have a great week!"
Account abandoned.

Sounds like how things work here, then, both with that and the rest of the replies abt when to clock time.I never qualify for extra pay no matter how many hours I work. Wonder how often these people check their email?
