I'm not so sure the free market would see fit to employ gas jockeys either. I mean some people may find it an amusing novelty and likely subsidize this much in the same manner people subsidize the Zoo by watching monkeys at the exhibit, but realistically the market cap for pump jockeys must be low on the free market methinks.

Im not arguing for a free market solution, just the validity of the solution we have chosen.
