JAYZUS Needs your hayulp! Send checks to.....He’s come under fire for shuttering his taxpayer-funded, former NBA arena church to those seeking refuge, dubiously using “flooding” as an excuse — even though plenty of images show otherwise — and is already seeking donations for his church and a shady partner organization run by fellow controversial evangelist Franklin Graham

LOL. I don't blame him. Why would he want to turn his mega church into the next Superdome death camp?

Re: Hurricane Harvey
I suspect he is a fraud, but in all fairness, unless he is prepared to care for thousands of folks, shit could get bad realllllly fast.
We are talking about thousands and thousands of folks, you're gonna need sufficient food and other supplies, or you just superdomed this people.
TLDR: it is a massive responsible to take into thousands of desperate folks.
(of course, best course of action would be to use that 40 mil/year salary and get out in front of all this)
just giving the other side here

Re: Hurricane Harvey
So to help people he has to let in a bunch of hoodrats who didn't have the agency to get the fuck out of the way of a massive hurricane? The last time somebody let that many hoodlums into a large arena-style structure was during Katrina, and they were raping and murdering within a few hours.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Because that's kinda the religion that he preaches. I would rather help people where they are at and let the government take responsibility for the next Superdome catastrophe.
If you actually believe what you are saying, then take in some of those hoodlums yourself. This is the same kind of mentality with the pro-refugee people. They demand somebody else suffer the consequences of their politics, but they sure as shit don't want Ahmed sleeping on their couch and trying to rape their daughters in the middle of the night.
And why are you guys picking on this one guy? I don't see the archbishop getting stupid and letting a bunch of gangsters camp out in the sanctuary,

Because Friedrich Dingles-berry perceives anything religious as pure evil, and this guy seems an easy target to snipe at (as if he is the epitome of religion).Speaker to Animals wrote: And why are you guys picking on this one guy?

I wouldn't trust a mega church pastor one bit. I am just saying.. I don't blame the guy for not wanting to host ten thousand hoodlums and gangster in his church.
He can do all sorts of charity outside the his church building. You don't have to defile your place of worship to follow Christ.

Re: Hurricane Harvey
We can love our neighbors and help those in need without defiling the sanctuary, or whatever the Protestant analog is called. Indeed, Catholic Charities is one of the major responding NGOs in this crisis, and yet I don't see hoodlums camped out atop the altar of any Catholic church.
You are just being ridiculous again.
