SInce when does a refugee from anywhere have $12,000 to spend?heydaralon wrote:What if we used this island to house Syrian refugees? We could charge them each 12k for a one way ticket there that includes a tent, and a mattress. For their use of the island, they could pay the Bahaman government a modest rent. Best of all, the island is pet friendly. Rabies vaccines against feral dog bites, however, are haram, so Muslims must make do without them. If you used the space widely, you could probably fit all of Merkel's muslims on that island.

They could sell a child. Or a kidney. I'm not saying it would be easy, but Syrians are a resourceful people. Maybe a philanthropist like Bill Gates could offer to pay for their tickets.Penner wrote:SInce when does a refugee from anywhere have $12,000 to spend?heydaralon wrote:What if we used this island to house Syrian refugees? I just figured out how to solve the Syrian Refugee Crisis. Ja Rule needs to instagram the muslim world and tell there is this awesome concert with free housing and food on Half Moon Island in Anarctica. Tell them its tropical themed so pack light, don't worry about shelter bro we got you covered, bring your family too. Problem solved.

The way things are going now, I think some of our fellow Americans would take A Modest Proposal halfway seriously instead of as satire.
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
