Listening to whom, NPR? Sure I do. I don't take them as God's Word on much of anything, but it's nice to get the headlines each morning.Okeefenokee wrote:and you're still listening to them.
Do you understand the significance of the internal war that is going on right now? This is a trajectory shifting moment, and they are fighting it with everything they have. The level on conflict going on right now is one hair shy of a coup. This is what happens when those masters you rail against face a true threat. They are swinging for the fences with anything they can find to swing.
I have absolutely no idea what the Russians may or may not have done, but I do know that the motives are in place. Since Trump's election, Russian media has shifted from calling us Nazis, to a softer tone. Perhaps they really do think they'll get more out of Trump. I certainly can't picture him ordering troops into a war...
I do know that it's open season for our Corporate Masters in the government, and expect some lovely new privacy invasions from our burgeoning police state. That's about it.
I will continue laughing at the "Drain the Swamp" rhetoric right up until I get a forced tattoo of Exxon-Mobile's logo on my forehead.

Truck Trumps Stupid.
Clinton took the state of Washington 54.3% to 38.1%. Could there be a better place to become a speedbump?

Porter has adamantly denied the allegation that he intentionally collided with the protesters because of a difference in political views and told an NBC affiliate reporter that he’s a democrat who voted for Hillary Clinton.

You are comparing today to a utopia that never existed. Things are far from perfect, and that has skewed your point of reference.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Manufactured inflation, gross corruption, price fixing, tax subsidies, special interests, on and on - oh, and poisoning my fucking water and air while telling me to conserve resources. Yeah, I'm spoiled I guess.
You could have been born a Roman slave, or a Carthaginian peasant right before Rome leveled Carthage, or maybe born into an Oliver Twist world where you were a child laborer, or maybe you could be a war captive to a hostile tribe, or even a Ukranian peasant during Holodomor, or an intellectual during the Red Guard purges, or a North Korean citizen, or ... whatever. In a state of nature, DSL might already be wearing a suit made of your skin.
Where is the time in history where hoi polloi like us had it so good? Hell, my 15K bonus just cleared, I am no serf or slave or captive or child laborer, I am very fortunate to be alive here and now.

SSU, bro, you know people. How do they behave? How does a group of associates respond when they feel personally threatened?
Do they forgo the vengeance of their sons for selfish purposes or do they plan massacres of their rivals?

The Dems as the future opposition party will naturally try to use everything and also the barn door against Trump.kybkh wrote:SSU, bro, you know people. How do they behave? How does a group of associates respond when they feel personally threatened?

But's that normal and anticipated. It simply doesn't surprise anybody.
Yet, shall we say when the media can report it likes this, it raises questions:
Now Trump can say the right line which any official and especially the President ought to say:President-elect Donald J. Trump said in an interview Friday morning that the storm surrounding Russian hacking during the presidential campaign is a political witch hunt being carried out by his adversaries, who he said were embarrassed by their loss to him in the election last year.
See here“With all that being said, I don’t want countries to be hacking our country,” Mr. Trump said. “They’ve hacked the White House. They’ve hacked Congress. We’re like the hacking capital of the world.”
But as along Trump hints even a doubt of his Intelligence Services findings (and let's remember the FBI along there too), the media will squeeze everything out of it. And that is normal media behaviour once there are conflicting views in the government. Now one argument is to think that all the institutions are heavily politisized and for some reason act like this because of the Obama administration, that is all but over. That argument is rather weak.
I still think Trump is far to timid here to think that simply accepting that leaks made through Wikileaks were done By Russia would mean that the Dems would have an upper hand. That it would mean that the credibility of the election would be put into question. I simply don't get it. Just a thing that "Russia has been active, just like it has been active in other elections in Western countries, doesn't invalidate elections". The denial just stirs up bad memories of those Presidents that simply didn't want to hear what their Intelligence Services were actually, honestly saying. Vietnam before, Iraq are the best examples. One possibility, and this is just a possible theory, is that Trump is truly afraid that the "Russia-thing" will become his on quagmire, his Russiagate. Otherwise I don't know.
Yet Trump should remember that in making conspiracy theories and going against a sitting President with them, Democrats are very bad. So it's not an issue, even the businessman Trump would have in former life gotten loans from Russia. In reality, that wouldn't be an issue. For a conspiracy nut it would be. Anyway, lets' see what he does when in office.

I think it's strange that so many people miss the point that the CIA doesn't operate in the open like this. Nor does the NSA. If they are creeping into Russia's panties looking for a smoking gun, they aren't giving us daily status updates on their progress. Them operating in the open, and making public statements on the status of their spy operations is theater.
