Fucking Turkey.

My slippery Turkish neighbor once turned down the temp on my water heater, without me knowing because he was mad at my grandmother.

Trump along with the Lebanese Prime Minister:
Lebanon is on the front lines in the fight against ISIS, al-Qaeda and Hezbollah. The Lebanese people, of all faiths, are working together to keep — and you know this, and we've been discussing this at great length — their country safe and prosperous
A bit clueless about things in Lebanon there. But of course, just who is a friend to whom might be confusing. Who could know?

(The same) Lebanese Prime Minister with the leader of Hezbollah:

BEIRUT, LEBANON (5:45 P.M.) – Zero hour is approaching for the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) offensive eastern Salamiyah, meaning the Islamic State’s (ISIL) presence in central Syria will soon come to an end.

With thousands of soldiers mobilized in eastern Hama, including their Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army has its sights set on the strategic town of ‘Uqayrbat, which is their most important stronghold in the central part of the country.

Losing ‘Uqayrbat will be a major loss the Islamic State will not be able to recover from, as the town is situated along a strategic roadway that leads to the terrorist group’s stronghold of Sukhnah to the east and the Palmyra-Homs Highway to the south.

Once ‘Uqayrbat is liberated, the Syrian Arab Army will be able to close-in on the Islamic State’s long salient that stretches between the Hama and Homs governorates – ultimately, central Syria.
The pro-government units involved in this upcoming battle are the following:

Tiger Forces (Cheetah Forces branch)
Liwaa Al-Quds (Palestinian paramilitary)
11th Tank Division
National Defense Forces (NDF)
Qalamoun Shield (3rd Armored Division)
Syrian Social Nationalist Party (SSNP)

KIRKUK-BANIYAS: THE FORGOTTEN PIPELINE
The Kirkuk-Baniyas pipeline is a crude oil pipeline, connecting the Iraqi oil field of Kirkuk to the Syrian port city of Baniyas. The pipeline was commissioned in 1952, was 800 km long it had the capacity of transporting up to 300 000 barrels per day.

The pipeline was crucial for the Syrian-Iraqi relations, no matter who had been ruling both countries. It played vital role throughout Saddam Hussein’s last years of ruling Iraq as well.

The Iraqi side of Kirkuk-Baniyas pipeline was severely damaged after the US war in Iraq in 2003. It was a subject of numerous airstrikes, which had rendered it inoperable since then.

At the end of 2007 when Syria and Iraq had agreed to restore the pipeline. It was about to get reconstructed by the Russian “Stroytransgas” company, a subsidiary of Gazprom. The project ultimately stalled and had never been finished, so the pipeline remained inoperable. The planned rehabilitation would be costlier than building new parallel pipelines, so both governments decided to focus on a brand new project – building two new Kirkuk-Baniyas pipelines. So it’s not about the pipeline itself, it’s about the route.

The ongoing war in Syria has brought destruction to the existing pipeline infrastructure in the country. There are three pumping stations on Syrian territory – T2, T3 and T4. While the T4 was the only one that had remained under government control since the beginning of the war, the other two were in the hands of IS. T3 and the near airport were recently liberated by the Syrian army. Operations on restoring T2 are underway as well. It is currently unknown what are the damages done to the infrastructure, nor what would be repair costs.

Graphic video: ISIS kills scores of Philippine troops in Marawi
DAMASCUS, SYRIA (11:30 P.M.) – Despite being outnumbered at least 100-to-1, a small garrison of Islamic State insurgents are putting up determined resistance against the Philippine Army in the embattled city of Marawi.

On Wednesday, Amaq Agency released its fifth ever video covering events in Marawi, showing plenty of army corpses along with weapons recently seized by Abu Sayyaf and Maute, two jihadist groups that have sworn allegiance to Islamic State leader Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi
Meanwhile, official sources in the Philippine Army claim the total ISIS death toll has surpassed 500, backing up earlier claims by Al-Masdar News which were heavily disputed when the crisis began over two months ago.

Between 120 and 60 ISIS insurgents still remain bogged down around four neighborhoods in the city centre where the hardline jihadists have established entrenched positions and sniper nests after booby-trapping most of the frontline.

Iraqi military now fighting the Iraqi Kurds over a military base and oil fields in Kirkuk:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2017/10 ... -launched/
Iraqi and Kurdish forces exchanged artillery fire early Monday south of the city of Kirkuk, after central government forces began a "major operation" to take control of a Kurdish military base and oil fields.

Iraqi forces said they had seized an oil field during the operation, which follows soaring tensions over an independence referendum.

Iraq's Joint Operations Command said the forces took over the Baba Gargar oil field, one of six in the disputed Kirkuk region, as well as the headquarters of a public oil company.

Shortly before, state television announced that government troops had taken "large areas" of the province from Kurdish peshmerga fighters "without fighting", although military sources on both sides reported exchange of Katyusha rocket fire to the south of the provincial capital.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.
