PM May calls for UK election:

Reason for calling election is covered in the link.UK Prime Minister Theresa May has called a snap general election for 8 June, taking the country by surprise.
The previous election was in 2015, so another was not due until 2020.
Ms May pledged several times after taking office last year not to call an early election, so this is something of a U-turn.
Fame is not flattery. Respect is not agreement.

I think this is a good move by May. She gets her own mandate to run the country and gets to increase her majority at the same time.
Labour will get annihilated at the polls and Corbyn will have to step down which is a short term loss but long term gain for them.
Liberal democrats will campaign as the only pro EU party and will end article 50 if they win, which will boost their number of MPs.
UKIP will die a horrible embarrassing death. Farage will fail once again (8th time) to become an MP.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

UKIP performed embarrassingly . AFD in Germany failed. PoF didn't do as we as hoped in the Netherlands.
I'm worried for FN in France.
I'd Nige really running again? I find that hard to believe.

No comment from him yet but it's hard to imagine him turning down another chance to stand, his ego is just too big.TheReal_ND wrote:

Not well known over here. We don't tend to go for the lunatic fringe types really.TheReal_ND wrote:He's got really good banter so I hope he does.

UKIP is as far right as anyone would dream of going and they are dying out.
Same with the far left.
Most of us are fairly conservative (small c) centre right types.

It's a mystery. Surely the UK isn't a nation of TV criminals?TheReal_ND wrote:
