Judge Roy Bean is a responsible judge, and he keeps his saloon in line. All you guys rushing to judgement need to understand that in the old west, people died at a young age from dysentery or small pox when making the perilous journey in a covered wagon. Girls were getting married at age 14. Is it reprehensible today? Sure, buy Roy Bean was a man of his time, and to dishonor the man and judge him through the lens of the present is small minded. At the time, is a paddy wanted to kill a chinaman that was ok, and Bean had to set the man free. These are tough decisions, that none of us would want to make, but I'm thankful that Roy Bean put that burden on himself. We need strong men to do what is necessary for society to survive.
