What you fail to see, Bjorn, is the obvious attempt at manipulation in citing a rise in hate crimes in the wake of three deadly Muslim terror attacks. It's like writing up stories about the surge in black theft after Hurrican Katrina. Obviously people are going to feel anti-Muslim after the third deadly terror attack by Muslims in a short span. That's called basic self-preservation and being human. Obviously more blacks, whites, and everyone else fleeing the devastation of Katrina are going to be in desperate straights and may be forced to resort to theft/looting to meet their survival needs. It's a predictable outcome. Framing these outlier events as a larger social indicator is utterly cynical and dishonest.

In fact, spotting a predictable trend and then presenting it as a false indication of a "racist" society is tantamount to leveraging the dead bodies of your countrymen to call the rest of your countrymen racist. Maybe that's normal for you Euros, who seem locked in a drag race to erase your own cultures as quickly as possible in order to show the world how tolerant you are. But it comes off looking pretty foul to American eyes.
