MMA prepares you for a sport which is wholly different from a street fight. What works well in MMA is likely to get you killed on the street. Getting on the ground in a street fight, in particular, would be a Darwinian culling.
The stupid you are spouting right now is just shy of epic... I have already stated that MMA kind of fighting would not find itself into a normal fight, never mind street fight. Cripes... I think we found a new form of dense between your ears.

Exactly. Yet you state it anyway, despite the complete lack of need for it to be stated. What gives?

I was replying to your little ring buddy, capps.
Nothing The Conservative said should have triggered that Captain Obvious response from you. So I don't see your point.

If your response was in any way a reasonable reaction to someone's remark, then perhaps I'd see your point, but alas that is not the case.

Err. yeah.. the comment that MMA was the closest thing to a street fight you can get triggered it. I responded with a comment to the effect, no, it's actually nothing like a street fight. Then you got butthurt alongside him.

Throwing out a challenge to all the Tough Guys here

Maybe it's time to separate theory from reality here, let's get some metrics.

That remark shouldn't have triggered your response, because the Conservative doesn't disagree with you, you are just pretending that he does. A reasonable response would be, Combat Sambo is closer, not going on a Captain Obvious rant about all the ways MMA and street fighting are different, he already knows there are differences, he never said there wasn't. You just pretended that Conservative didn't know there was any differences, so you could argue against a strawman and as a result you've made a fool of yourself in the process.

Last time I was in a fight, I ended up smashing a bottle of gin on a dude's head and then fretted for a whole day waiting for him to come out of his barracks room to confirm I didn't kill him.

Fights are not worth it.

Karate, Boxing, Wrestling, Sword Fighting, Hand to Hand, and Hard Knocks.

Fights: Over 20 (lost 1) The one I lost was 6 on 1, and it was a technically lost, I call it a loss because I had to retreat... not because I found my ass on the ground unable to get up

Last fight, 3 years ago.
Permanent marks: Scars on Knees from surgeries to remove pencil jabbed into my knee joint, scars on hands and arms from knives hot liquids thrown at me.

I was a bouncer and a security guard for a few years, so I'm sort of and odd duck out.

The Conservative is a Wrestle-Boxer Bouncer. Very stereotypical of American born MMA fighters.
