Funny... I was just advocating this on Friday - about 6,000 posts ago, before they detonated their new bomb. Way back then, Smitty was telling me to simmer down, and it wouldn't work, and quit talking shit that I don't understand.

Like I said, I'd be warming up the counterforce option right about now, if you wanna go with the Capps doctine, just let it play out, fair enough I suppose, but make sure you understand that the risk factor for counterforce option goes up exponentially if they get to the threshold of Redwings over the CONUS, so me, I'm ready to take them down now, harsh realm for North Korea, but not one hair mussed on the CONUS.

I really don't see any other realistic options. Doing the Obama-style appeasement strategy would only give them enough time to produce more of these things along with the ICBMs that can deliver them.

Right now they basically hold South Korea hostage, which kept American leaders from acting for decades. But soon they will hold millions of Americans hostage.

I think Smitty has a point in that destroying much of the government in Pyongyang could retard their ability to order a counter-offensive on SK with their artillery. But their entire nuclear program needs to be totally destroyed. Every time they try to rebuild it, that has to be destroyed too. From here on out.

Otherwise, if they get to the point where they can deploy these things, bare minimum they likely will eventually invade the south again and demand Americans get out or they will launch fusion bombs on our west coast cities.

They really are that crazy. They are in a kind of feedback loop in Pyongyang.
