He kinda annoys me and I disagree with his general premise in the "better angles" book . The 20th century was a motherfucker. I don't know if we are genuinely more "peaceful" and less violent. In a lot ways even taking out all the modern genocides and 10 of millions of civilian and combat deaths, just having the ability to annihilate humanity with nuclear weapons and other nasty biological/chemical weapons makes me think the point is kind of null and void at this point.
