Peace upon ye, broham, and Merry Christmas.
Did not interfere with my enjoyment of Christmas whatsoever. No school + presents; who needs Santa?
You were getting Star Wars and G.I. Joe dolls up there in the frozen tundra for your tea parties, tho. Down here we were getting them little hoes.
Oh no, I wasn't allowed to play with GI Joe, I wasn't allowed to play with any military toys at all, any military toys, I had to make myself, out of sticks and whatnot.

Little House on the Prairie tho, got tons of that, that was actually one of my favorite shows, who didn't like LHOTP? And the Waltons, that was another favorite.

True story: The Waltons was the reason my grandparents (my dad's parents) finally bought me a 13 inch B/W set for my bedroom.

They eventually got sick of me (and my dad) bitching every single week over at their house about getting shut out by my mom from the TV to watch that faggoty-assed John-Boy and his SJW hippie shit.

I did, but... no re-watch-ability. None. Sad face. When stuck in a hotel room with infomercials and lil house, I watch infomercials.
Account abandoned.

Well we only had two channels anyways, so there was no point getting another TV, just to watch the other channel, my parents just made me get up and flip to the other channel during commercials, and then flip it back, back in the day, we just watched whatever was on.

The priorities were Spiderman on Saturday morning, and Hockey Night in Canada on Saturday night, everything else was pot luck.

The one where she runs away and her guardian angel takes care of her until her dad can find her was pretty good.

It wasn't until we moved to Toronto that my father sprung for a colour tv and cable, and that was like the fall of the Iron Curtain for me.

Cable?? WTF is that, is what I said until I was 14.

Youth really is wasted on the young, as the man said.

Pfft, I didn't get DSL till I was 18 because I had to pay for it myself. I didn't get cable internet till I was at least 25... by then it was "affordable" in theory...

Not even just cable, when my parents got divorced, my father sprung for pay TV at his new place, I couldn't believe it, I can even remember the first movie I watched; St. Helens
