Thanks Bjorn.
Why where there no settlements in Spain or Portugal? Is there just no evidence left or was it too inhospitable for some reason?
Viking settlements occured in kingdoms and realms that were internally fragmented and thus unable to strike back effectively. There were raids in the Iberian peninsula, but they... let's just say they were better at defending against raiding there:

So, yeah... too inhospitable. ;)

That's what I was getting at in terms of inhospitable. I wasn't sure of the dates when Spain was under Moorish control.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

At least 2015-present, maybe even earlier.
Not to be left out, Germany, France, and the UK too.
The Vikings aren't going anywhere near London - hell, they've go their own Moorish infiltration going on.

It's definitely not the flu, it's 7 times deadlier, but it's also vastly less predictable than a virus we already know

This thing is mutating as it goes, sometimes harmlessly, sometimes dangerously

Zoonotic novel virus is not to be fucked with, this is the stuff Doomsday Bugs are made of

I am definitely hunkered down for a long war, ain't no need to throw myself in front of this one, I'm retired

The youngest person so far to fall victim in the UK died today aged 19.
No mention of whether or not there was any underlying condition.

I was never one of the people who said this was only going to kill 80 year olds

I'm not trying to fearmonger, but this is a de facto biological weapon alien invader

And I ain't no kid anymore, so this shit probably would kill me, it's an adversary which demands respect

Like we are going out less and less as we top off our house with provisions

We are getting ready to just hunker down, although we still go into the woods with the dogs

It's like a forest fire, and now it's just down the road from here.

The lady made one last shopping trip yesterday with her dust mask, and I think that’s it for a while. We’ve been spraying down anything that comes into the house, or leaving it to sit for a day. Other than that, we are fully quarantined.

Our kids play with another family directly behind us, but that can’t be prevented. No way I can separate them for the whole spring. They’re shut-in as well, the hubby works night shift at the nursing home.

We have a bug-out location designated, supplies for at least 2 months, and 2 full magazines in the attic.

Feeling good, so long as the utilities stay on.

Where we are here we are safe from everything except the virus, so we're battening down for the storm

I am heavily armed, but this is Canada, out in the country, the tactical threat is practically nil
