You conservatives still hate gay people?

My sister was talking about something similar, and I think you might have a point. Why not teach racial differences in the same way we teach something like brown eyes vs blue eyes. Whether or not your skin color is different matters to me just about as much as whether your eye color is different. Sure history matters, but how do we move forward?DBTrek wrote:jediuser598 wrote:Hey, then you could take away our guns due to mental disorder.DBTrek wrote:Some GOP senator or congressman in a deep-red district should suggest the CDC investigate the detrimental effects that the mental disorder known as "liberalism" inflicts on society.
Maybe then the Dems will wise up and drop wasting taxpayer funds for leveraging the CDC as a mouthpiece to push their agenda.
The idea has merits I hadn't even considered.
I was thinking more along the lines of the long-term mental ramifications of teaching people that capitalism is evil, white people are evil, businesses are evil, police are evil, and Christianity is evil, but government is good (minus police).
That will fuck some people up.
Can you imagine being born a baby black male in this nation and growing up with adults telling you that white people want to kill you, police want to kill you, businesses won't hire you, and everyone not black hates you every day of your young life?
And then we're like "Why are these guys fucked up?"
Because liberalism and the constant preaching of unAmerican values fucked them up, Stockholm Syndrome style, that's why.
Someone get the CDC to save these guys from the wrongthink pathogen.
That's how the leftists would tackle it, right?

Well, in the American congressional paradigm, I do think sacred cow hostage taking is a viable strategy, like the old school NHL, you run our star players, we'll run yours, you bump our sacred cows, we'll cross check your sacred cows into the glass teeth fist.clubgop wrote:And just like those movies say sometimes the Nanny needs a good dicking so she learns her place.Smitty-48 wrote:In broad strokes, CDC Sally is Nanny, her job is to hector you into taking your medicine for your own good, USAMRIID is the fire department, pull the alarm and they run to the sound of the guns.
It's no surprise that CDC Sally would eventually get to "gun violence" as a "pathogen" which she must "control" to protect you from yourselves, that's how she sees the world, she cannot but see it through those nanny colored glasses, it's in her DNA.

I mean, there's no sense trying to negotiate with Blue Team on this, what has to happen is the fear has to be put into the CDC itself, in that, if they're going to allow themselves to be dragged into Blue Team's camp, then they're going to have to live in fear of Red Team ever winning an election again, the Red Team base has to make it clear to the CDC that they will be gutted as an agency, if they can't remain neutral in the culture war, and USAMRIID taking their mandate should be used as a stick to put that fear into them.
There can be a CDC, but nowhere is it written that they must have 15,000 employees and a budget of $7 billion, that could be cut way, way back, to be sure.
To wit; "fuck with us, and we will gut you like a fish and hand your shit over to the Pentagon, ain't no thang, don't test us."

CDC, in Surveys It Never Bothered Making Public, Provides More Evidence that Plenty of Americans Innocently Defend Themselves with Guns
CDC surveys in the 1990s, never publicly reported, indicate nearly 2.5 million defensive uses of guns a year. That matches the results of Gary Kleck's controversial surveys, and it indicates more defensive than offensive uses of guns.

Many people who support gun control are angry that the federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) are not legally allowed to use money from Congress to do research whose purpose is "to advocate or promote gun control." (This is not the same as doing no research into gun violence, though it seems to discourage many potential recipients of CDC money.)
But in the 1990s, the CDC itself did look into one of the more controversial questions in gun social science: How often do innocent Americans use guns in self-defense, and how does that compare to the harms guns can cause in the hands of violent criminals?
Florida State University criminologist Gary Kleck conducted the most thorough previously known survey data on the question in the 1990s. His study, which has been harshly disputed in pro-gun-control quarters, indicated that there were more than 2.2 million such defensive uses of guns (DGUs) in America a year.
Now Kleck has unearthed some lost CDC survey data on the question. The CDC essentially confirmed Kleck's results. But Kleck didn't know about that until now, because the CDC never reported what it found.
