I think Trump will, but their government literally will not allow these people to take their child to America for treatment.

This is not even an issue about whether they will pay for his treatment. They obviously will not. The family wants to take their child to America for treatment on their own dime and the government doctors still won't allow it.

It's the kind of evil shit I see in the VA hospitals all the time but applied to children. Fucking abhorrent.

When the government takes over the direct administration of health care (socialized medicine), they treat human beings as property. I have seen it with my own eyes. That's what is happening here.

With single-payer, the worst you will get is rationing that is not based on your ability to pay. But, like wealthy Canadians, you'd probably be able to go to some other place that is willing to sell you the treatment you desire. Nobody is going to tell you that seeking life-saving treatment is verboten.

There will be rationing of some kind in any health care system. What makes socialized medicine so fucking awful is that the rationing becomes compulsory for some reason. I can't explain it. It's not just rationing of health care either. I have seen men refusing treatment because they didn't trust the doctors get chased down at the door by police and dragged back in at the behest of government doctors. Something about it makes the government hospital employees really fucking evil. I can't explain it. But just go to a VA hospital with some serious illness for all the time for a few years and you will know.

Socialized medicine is a really, really, really fucking bad idea.

Single-payer is a decent compromise in that they the rationing is not compulsory. If they won't pay for something, they won't pay for it. You are free to try to raise funds yourself or pay out of your own pocket if you want.

I sort of wonder if they want to kill this boy because allowing him to travel to America to for treatment, if that treatment is successful, will cast serious doubt on the efficacy of their government-run health care system.

I know that's why the VA doctors want to stop us from getting vouchers to take to real doctors outside the VA system. It's better to kill the veterans on long waiting lists so they can keep their huge tax dollar budgets. It's about the budgets, not the human beings. At best, the human beings are an impediment to the budget and money flow.
