The biggest resistance is people thinking about their kids. There is a point where one has to push off and have faith that their resilience has taken hold in the next gen. After that it becomes helicopter parenting. Who can control what society is going to morph into ? At some point there has to be a stick in the sand moment and a "good luck" sent to the progeny. (I understand more and more the people who refuse to bring new lives into this madness as I see it unfold even if the majority are doing it for reasons that I disagree with.)

I predict economic collapse, and invoke Total Collapse, as a worst case scenario. Total Collapse would involve an EMP, or similar destruction. Realistically, I know that I can survive the former, not the latter.

There weren’t a lot of warlords and private armies in the Great Depression - at least not outside the big cities. Just keep your mouth shut about the moonshine stills, and live your own.
